Achtung!

Unit Commanders should be at the Admin building 2100 hrs, 23 MAR 2018 for event brief.

NO LIVE Ammunition, NO Alcohol on WSTS property. NO Post 1945 Music, NO Pets, and make a 100% effort to maintain a WW2 era environment. No firing at other reenactors 50 ft or closer. No fixed Bayonets.

Participants: Units are expected to be in the proper uniform at all times. Unit commanders are responsible for the authenticity review of their units. Reminder its 1944! Hair cuts ,no beards, no crazy mustaches. You are expected to be in the correct uniform for your impression NLT one hour after your check in. There is no “admin” time scheduled. If your uniform is not to standard you will be asked to leave the event. Units are expected to follow the missions assigned to them. Participants are to maintain all standards of the HRS. Warning! If your hair cut is not period correct or your impression is not to standard, you may be asked to leave the event without refund. Square yourself away, respect the use of facilities, obey rules, regulations, and Coordinators. (Unit commanders are responsible for the conduct of their unit. Police up trash! Fill in any holes, ruts, etc. that your vehicle leaves. Weldonkrieg is not a social experiment, Impressions should be gender period correct.

No Non-Participants: Weldonkrieg is not the place for your family vacation. The only people staying on site should be the registered participants. There should not be any non-participants or "camp followers" on the site during the event, minus someone getting picked up or dropped off.

The only non-reenactors on the site should be the vendors (although many are reenactors), and the various military units training on the site. We know that as small children, the idea to go walk the "Nuclear waste adventure trail" sounds like an ideal family get away while you are out defending the fatherland. We don't have an issue with your family spending the weekend in St Louis...we just don't want them at Weldonkrieg. Besides, we don't have an extra US halftrack to corral all of those toddlers in a period correct adhoc daycare. Seriously...don't bring your family or significant others to Weldonkrieg....it just isn't the right place for them.

Vehicles: We are lucky to have numerous period vehicles for this event. Thanks for sharing them with us! Safety First!! Road Speeds for vehicles will be 20mph on hardball, 15mph on gravel roads, 10mph passing troops. All Motor vehicles will have a ground guide in the rear area (tent, mess, admin area). NO fueling of vehicles near any building, period buildings, and POV’s. A vehicles safety inspection will be conducted prior to use in the field. Each vehicle will have proper fire extinguisher, liability insurance, and working brakes. Only licensed drivers over the age of 18 may operate a tactical vehicle at Weldonkrieg. Tow vehicles and trailers will be stowed where directed by event staff. OBEY ALL ROAD SIGNS and NO OFF ROAD DRIVING as directed by event staff.

Additional Info: Mess Information: Only one meal is provided by the event staff which will be Saturday evening. All other meals are the responsibility of the participant.

Latrines (restrooms): All participants will use the provided chemical toilets (Blue House/Porta-potties), no cat-holes!. Communication: Coordinate with your unit commander to contact event staff. Trash: Collect all trash, leave nothing behind.

Authenticity / Safety Notes: HRS Authenticity Guidelines apply to this event. All German, American and other Western Front Impressions are Welcome. All impressions will be from Normal Mainland Europe German, Italian, and Allied Forces. No Civilian/Partisan Impressions. All reenactors participating will have proper period hairstyles for their respective nationality. WWII HRS Safety and authenticity rules apply and will be strictly enforced. HRS Authenticity and Safety Guidelines http://www.worldwartwohrs.org/Authen.htm

Weapons: Participants will use traditional Allied/Wehrmacht Western Front weapons. No PPSH 41, 43, Suomi KP/-31, or any other weapon not used by the normal German, Italian, or Allied Forces during the Fall of 1944 in Mainland Europe. No Airsoft Weapons allowed. BATF weapons requirements apply on all Federal Training sites (Be prepared with your BATF paperwork). No weapon is to be fired directly at anyone closer that fifty (50) feet or whenever anyone is close to the muzzle of a rifle. This applies to the persons who are next to you, as well as in front of the muzzle. Watch out for the other persons hearing. No fixed Bayonets!!

Minors: We firmly believe good people, regardless of age make for good reenactors. We've seen 45 year old's do just as stupid stuff as 15 year old's. The only difference we see for those under 18 are caused by the different legal status of minors. Anyone under the age of 18 is considered a minor under the law. For those that are 16-17 years of age belonging to HRS and non- HRS units alike, they may participate as long as a parent or guardian is on the site, and the registration papers are endorsed by the parent/guardian. The minor should be under the control of the parent/guardian at all times during the event. What does this mean exactly? If a parent is allowing another relative or friend (18 or older) to perform said role of "Guardian", then a notarized letter from the parent should accompany the participants and delivered to event staff upon check-in. Any banking institution can notarize a letter in a few minutes. The letter should have the Parents, Minor's, and Guardians name, address, and signature. The Notary Public will not endorse/stamp the letter if the parent isn't the one requesting service, at least they shouldn't!!

Minors under the age of 16 should not be at Weldonkrieg, unless they just happen to be in the car when you are getting dropped off or picked up at the event.

Does that mean they are watching the minor every second at the event? Of course not…but they should have an idea what they are up to. In the field, it means that the parent or guardian should be part of the same unit or company. They don’t have to be with them every second, but they shouldn’t be too far away either.

Also, the parent or guardian should be ready to deal with any negative consequences caused by the minor, just as an adult should be prepared to deal with any misconduct they do themselves.

Also, just be aware those under 18 cannot legally have tobacco products in the State of Missouri, so please do not offer it to them.

Issues Dealing with Participants: Egregious violations of Safety and Authenticity or violations of the guidelines as listed in this packet to include; disturbing the peace of other reenactors, public intoxication will be addressed on a case by case basis by the event hosts. It is expected that all participants will respect the designated staff assisting in the execution of the event. Any disrespect or ill will towards them will be the same as if directed at the Event Hosts and will be handled accordingly.

Possible repercussions:

  1. Verbal Warning

  2. Violators will be instructed to leave site. (No refunds)

  3. Those who refuse to leave site will be informed they are trespassing.

  4. Law enforcement will be requested to respond and resolve situation.

  5. HRS will be notified of incidents involving egregious violations of Safety and Authenticity or criminal acts perpetrated by an event participant.

Event Passes: All participants will carry a Soldier’s Pass (On their person) while at this event. Prior to the start of the battle, Unit Safety / Authenticity representatives will initial and date the bottom of the pass indicating that the holder has passed inspection. Possession of this pass also indicates that the bearer has paid the appropriate fees and completed the proper registration paperwork to attend the event. The holder of the pass must present it upon the request of their unit’s Safety / Authenticity representative, Unit Commander, and Event Staff

Helmets: Must be worn by all participants during public battles. Except for the following:

-Gebirgsjagers

-Other individual soldats whose impression requires a soft cap to operate

equipment or vehicles authentically or safety.

-These impressions must wear their impression correct headgear.

Axis impressions: Should portray mainland Europe during the Fall '44. Wool and HBT uniforms are acceptable. Stone Grey trousers are only acceptable for Heer and SS Staff Officers. Tropical uniforms and Africa Korp impressions are not suitable for this time frame. HRS authenticity standards will be adhered too and strictly enforced. As the normal German soldat in WW2 did not have facial hair, it will not be considered the norm for this event with the exception of Gebergsjäger impressions and must be approved prior to the event. Any Soldat not wishing to shave prior to authenticity inspection may not be allowed to particpate. All soldats will have proper period appropriate hairstyles. Any soldat not wishing to have a proper hairstyle may not be allowed to participate.

Axis Hairstyle information:

Post War style camouflage is not acceptable. Splittermuster (Splinter) and Sumpfmuster (Water-Tan) will be considered the norm for Heer Troops. All WW2 SS camouflage used in mainland Europe is acceptable. All soldats will have proper WW2 style footwear which includes Low Boots (considered the norm for Fall '44) and Jackboots. All soldats actively engaged in field operations will wear a M35, M40, or M42 German Helmet. All field kit Items should be of proper WW2 German style. East German canteen cups and Y-straps are not acceptable.

Blanks/ Pyro: HRS guidelines regarding the use of blanks will be observed at all times. No Live ammo of any kind. Pyro and smoke must be commercially purchased and pre-approved. No exceptions. Participants must employ basic weapons safety at all times, I.e.: Muzzle awareness, treat all weapons as if they were loaded. No pointing of weapons at individuals closer than 20 feet.

Unit Kommandeur und Kampfgruppe Kommandeur will ensure proper standards. Any Soldat not meeting authenticity requirements will be given several minutes to adjust their impression before leaving for field operations. Any Soldat refusing to meet authenticity standards will not be allowed to participate.

Alcohol, Smoking, Illegal Substances: No alcoholic beverages permitted on Weldon Springs Training Site. No one will be allowed to enter Weldon Spring after hours if they are in an intoxicated condition. No smoking inside of buildings. Smoking allowed in designated areas only. No Illegal Substances.

Flags, restaurants and German uniforms: Unless you were living in a hole during February of 2014 in the reenacting community, you have probably heard of the Minneapolis restaurant fiasco.  Having a WWII reenactor dinner with swastika flags on the walls, and on Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend….hmm…what could go wrong with this plan? We have zero tolerance for that stuff at Weldon.  No swastika flags will be flown, and no German tunics worn off the installation.  We don’t want to be a cover story in the Riverfront Times in conjunction with the Minneapolis paper. Here are some expected responses for those who might be upset: This infringes on our First Ammendment Rights!  No…by coming to our event you agree to playing by our rules.  If you don’t like it, then you don’t have to attend.   There is a difference between a campsite at an event you are invited to attend and standing on a public street corner.  Go talk to the ACLU…our Weldonkrieg legal department will get back to them.  They are Dewey, Cheatam and Howe in Cambridge, MA.

This isn’t fair…..the Allies get to do it!  That’s right they do, but this is also the country of the veterans who won the war. It’s pretty simple…we won’t put up with it.  If someone is going to be that way and push the issue on us, don’t attend.  If you do something stupid like happened in Minnesota, we won’t tolerate it, make excuses for it and hope the gate hits you on the butt as you roll out of the site.

Any person in attendance exhibiting erratic or unruly behavior in or out of the field may be asked to leave the premises.

With the observance of the above guidelines, we welcome everyone to attend. Lets have a safe, authentic, and fun event.

Thank You,

Weldonkrieg Axis Event Staff
